that they need somewhere to live. So, as there's a college student in the family (me), guess WHERE they're going to live? yup, it's finally happened - my parents kicked me out and now they're renting my room.
just kidding. But she is going to live in my room. She's 16 from Brazil, and she's going to go to the public high school in my county (the first person to live in my house and to have done so, all my siblings and I are/were homeschooled). Oh, and since public schools start obscenely early these days, I have to move out of my room over a week early.
Now, this might all sound like complaing, but it isn't. I mean, i could get a really good complaining rap out of this, but honestly I think it's really cool. I've always wanted us to host an exchange student. It's kind of ironic that now we're finally doing it, I'll be gone 99% of the time. Of course, it will be a big adventure living in my little sister's room for 1 1/2 weeks, because we've both had our own rooms for more than 2 years, and we're a lot alike (bossy, stubborn, supreme rulers of our own rooms - only now i'll be in HER room). and now I have to frantically empty my dresser and start packing 2 weeks earlier than I intended to. But maybe that means I won't be up till 3 am the night before I leave finishing.
The reason this is such a big thing is that we got called about it on Sunday. That's right, 2 days ago. See, she was going to stay with some friends of ours, but they couldn't do it at the last minute - so they gave our name and number to the coordinator, who called us right away. We were very taken aback. I'm sure hosting never would have happened otherwise, because I don't think my parents have ever considered it a cool thing to do. But, I guess God knew that too, and here we are.
so how do you say hello in portugese?
Posted by switchfan at août 3, 2004 06:28 PMAlo.
A televisao nao esta funcionando.
Nao tem papel higienico no banheiro.
if I recall correctly hello is "hello"... ummm... "How are you doing" is "como e voce que faz" and "I am doing fine" is "Eu estou fazendo muito bem"... "Vindo com nós a Taco Bell" is "come with us to taco bell..." and ummmmmm... "Prof. Beal esta furando" is "prof. Beal is boring."
Can you tell I had a portugese friend at college :-)
